2007 Racing News
Buena Vista Raceway, Alta Iowa
Season Opener March 30th
August 29th- Started 4th, Finished 3rd. Season Championship night so no heat races were run and the cars were lined up
according to points. The groove was on the high side and Brian pretty much spent the whole race on the bumper of the 2nd
place car who was attached to the bumper of the leader. Brian took some looks down low but there just wasn't enough to
make a pass stick. Didn't help he'd have to pass both cars to get back up to the high side and that every time he tried to make
an attempt at passing he'd lose ground and have to spend a couple laps making it back up!
August 22nd- Canceled due to rain.
August 15th- Started 4th, Finished 2nd. With the groove on the outside, Brian took full advantage of his starting spot,
following the leader for the first lap, ducking down coming out of 2 he pulled up beside and past on the back stretch, taking
over the lead in turn 3. With 14 long laps to go the car looked good, but Brian was struggling with some ruts in turn one and
two. Laps winding down and the second place car making some challenges, 4 laps to go Brian hit the ruts wrong,
straightening out the car and as he worked to get the car back on track he lost the lead. Recovering and making up the
ground quickly he caught up to the leader but just didn't have enough to over take the leader.
August 8th- Canceled due to Rain.
August 1-Started 4th, Finished 8th. Bad luck early on as the 92B suffered a right rear flat with only a few laps in. Pulling in to
get the tire changed it the pit stop didn't go as smoothly as the crew would have liked and Brian was about a 1/2 a track behind
the field when he reentered the race. Was able to pick off some stragglers in the last few laps but unable to do much more as
there were no more yellows.
July 25th-Started 7th, Finished 3rd. Another exciting night at BVR. Brian seemed to have hit the right set up tonight, but luck
was against him as he went backwards during the feature as often as he moved forward. Early on, down low things looked
good as Brian made his way to the front. Flirting with the 2nd-3rd spot, he saw all his progress slip away as the leader bobbled
almost collecting the 92B. Slipping back Brian cautiously moved forward again only to have a similar situation occur when a
car running in front of him spun. Avoiding disaster he fell back again. Working his way up to 3rd the yellow was thrown. With a
handful of laps left he hung with the leaders but the car became increasingly difficult to drive. Crossing the finish line in third
it wasn't until he hopped out of the car that he noticed the left rear tire was completely flat! A nice run considering!
July 19th-Started 11th, Finished 4th. Starting at the back of his heat, Brian didn't have enough to make the invert so he started
in the 11th place position in the night's A. Fortunately the car set up was pretty close (after many, many changes following the
heat!) and Brian was able to patiently work his way towards the front. A nice solid run.
July 11th-Started 6th, Finished 4th. Another dry one tonight. The groove was on the low side and Brian went backwards on the
hight side till found an opening on the bottom. Patience paid off as he was able to slowly move his way forward on the tricky
track and finish a solid 4th.
July 4th-Started 8th, Finished 5th. 30 lap feature tonight for the Kyle Suter Memorial race. A one groove track on the
bottom, going backwards on the start he was finally able to get in line. Brian just didn't have that extra something as he spent
the race see sawing back and forth with several other racers. Several good passes were negated by untimely cautions. As
the laps wound down he found himself in 5th which is where he stayed until the checkers flew.
June 27th- Started 8th, Finished 8th. A frustrating night. Car wasn't bad, but Brian was hoping that the groove would be on
the high side as he just didn't seem to have the power needed for the bottom. Starting on the outside he looked good, but
got pinned behind another car. Lap after lap passed by as he watched one car after the other fill in the bottom side and pass
him by. Finally taking advantage of a bobble by the car in front of him he was able to make the pass, only to have a yellow
come out and nullify it! On the restart he regained the spot, but it was too little too late as too many cars had gotten by earlier
on. Not our best run!
BIG CONGRATS TO CRAIG BROTHERTON on putting his 45B Dave Co Chevrolet in Victory lane!! Not bad for a rookie!!!
June 25th- Started 7th, Finished 5th. The nights results don't tell the story! Car seemed better, but Brian got pinned in on the
high side. Cars all around for most the race, it was nerve wracking, swapping positions with the other cars on the track, he
was in 7th on the last lap, but going low in 3 and 4 he pulled off a 5th place finish.
June 20th-Started 8th, Finished 4th. Brian went backwards on the start of tonight's A Main event and when the night's first
yellow was thrown with 2 laps in, he was sitting in 9th. Testing out the track and his set up, he went low, looked like a rocket in
the corners but didn't have anything coming off. See sawing back and forth with the cars on the outside he finally was able to
move up high and start to make up some positions. A couple untimely cautions found him go back behind cars he had just
passed slowing his progress forward. Was in a strong 4th when the checkers flew. A nice solid finish.
June 13th- Started 3rd, Finished 4th. 13 wasn't lucky for us today as our Mid Season Championship race didn't turn out quite
the way we'd have liked it to!! No heats, lined up by point standings, Brian found out early that the track was rough and the
groove was on the top. Unfortunately with only a couple laps in he packed the right front tire full of mud and the car started to
really vibrate. As the race went on the vibration got so bad he could barely see going down the straightaway! Fortunately all
challenges from behind him didn't pan out and he was able to hang on (literally!) to 4th place until the checkers flew. Post
race inspection showed that the car had vibrated so hard that the nut holding onto the right front A-Frame just about came out
and the wheel was flopping around! Guess there was some luck on our side as it could have been a disaster if the nut would
have fallen off!
June 6th- Started 16th, Finished 9th. Honestly didn't know if we were going to make the program tonight as repairs from
Sunday ended up being far more extensive than we thought they would be. Did make it to the track just as the heat races
were starting and finished up repairs before our heat. All for naught as in the first turn of the heat a car spun in front of the
92B, Brian tried to avoid it but ended up sliding into the other car flattening the tire, bending a ball joint and doing some sheet
metal damage. Back to scrambling around before the feature, starting at the tail. Wishing we had some more time for changes,
we were throwing Brian into the car with only two laps left in the B mod feature. The car was ok but not great on the super dry
track. Very difficult to pass with only one groove on the bottom, didn't help matters when Brian had to go to the tail after a car
spun in front of him collecting the 92B once again. Was able to make it up to 9th before the checkers flew.
May 30th-Canceled. More Rain!
May 23rd- Canceled due to rain!
May 16th- Started 6th, Finished 4th. Still struggling with finding the right set up. Changes before the heat, changes before
the feature. Brian felt he made some head way but definitely not where he wanted it to be as he had his hands full during the
nights A. Managed to hang on to the high side and finish in the top 4.
May 9th- Started 18th, Finished 8th. Bad luck hit tonight as the 92B blew a motor in the heat race. Didn't know if it could be
done, but the crew decided to see if we could get the spare motor in before the feature. It was a scramble, but things worked
out as Brian was in his car and lined up in time for the night's A. The track was heavier than it had been and Brian wasn't able
to make the adjustments he would have liked do to the car, still he made the best of it. Working his way slowly up through the
field. The car was tight making passing difficult but he wrestled his way to a nice solid top 10 finish.
May 2- Started 8th, Finished 7th. After some adjustments to the car Brian hit the track for the night's feature event. The car
was hooked up, with Brian patiently passing cars when about midway through the race two cars in front of the 92B tangled.
With nowhere to go Brian piled into the mess and was also hit from behind. Fortunately the car only suffered sheet metal
damage. Back to the tail of the field, he used the final laps to work his way back up to 7th.
April 25th- Rained out.
April 18th- Started 5th, Finished 3rd. Finally the weather cooperated enough for us to get some racing in! Drawing for position,
Brian would start outside pole in his heat. The track was hard and dry and there were some definite slick spots, but Brian was
able to get out in front and hang on to finish in the top spot in the heat. He did some changes on the car and was ready to go
for the night's A. Starting 3rd row inside, the track was one groove on the bottom. Brian dogged the second place car and the
fourth place car dogged Brian. On one restart Brian got up off the bottom and lost his spot, but luck was on his side as the
yellow came out and he got the spot back. He learned his lesson and stuck 'er to the bottom the rest of the laps. A good solid
finish for our first night out.
April 11th- Cancelled due to snow!
March 30th - Cancelled due to weather.
Stuart Speedway, Stuart, IA
Season Opener April 15th
September 2nd- Started 10th, DNF. Early on in the feature one of the lead cars spun in front of the pack and unfortunately
Brian took the brunt of it as he piled into the side of the car! To the back he knew the car wasn't right but he was trying to pick
up any spots he could when the hood flew up and in the process it broke the distributor ending his night. Pretty sore from the
hit he took too. :(
August 26th- Started 10th, Finished 2nd. Track points all tied up now!
August 19th- Started 9th, Finished 13th. DNF! Cut a tire down with one lap in the feature. No opportunity to change the tire as
the track doesn't allow pit stops. :(
August 5th- Rained out.
July 29th-Started 10th, Finished 2nd. Another exciting race as Brian and the eventual winner of the night's feature, raced side
by side for several laps. Brian couldn't find enough grip on the low side and just didn't have what he needed to take over the
top spot, but overall a very good run!
July 22nd-Started 9th, Finished 1st! Five wide action tonight at Stuart, Brian took some risks and they paid off as he was able
to sneak through some pretty small openings and take home the win in convincing style!! Whooooo Hoooooo!
July 15th-Started 9th, Finished 2nd. Another exciting night at the Stuart Speedway. Tonight was a race to who could get to the
front first between Brian and the eventual winner. Brian was running low the other car high, sometimes making it 3 wide they
raced toward the front of the pack. Finally side by side the other car took the advantage when the yellow flew with a few left
to go. Brian fell in line on the restart but didn't have enough to take over the top spot. An exciting race!
July 8th-Started 9th, Finished 1st!
July 1st- Started 9th, Finished 1st!!! The night's feature was off to a rocky start with a first lap incident gathering quite a few
cars. Somehow by some miracle, Brian was able to squeak through. Taking the green he used both the high and low side to
move up through the pack taking over the top spot all he had to do was hang on til the checkers flew. Car wasn't where he
wanted it to be but we'll take it! Whooo hooo!
June 24th-Started 9th, Finished 7th. After scrambling all day to get the car repaired, Brian was hoping for a good run, but it
wasn't to be. Stuck in traffic, victim of some super tight racing, he ended up damaging the front end suspension. With the car
toed out it just wasn't up to par. Finished 7th.
June 17th- Started 8th, Finished 3rd.
June 10th- Started 8th, Finished 3rd. Bad luck struck early as a car running on the outside of Brian came down into him and
he was forced into another car running down low. Managing to keep all his tires up Brian continued on with his crippled car
(both the right side and left side A frames were bent!). He drove a smart race and stayed out of trouble for the rest of the
feature and somehow managed to pull off a top 4 finish!
June 3rd- Started 9th, Finished 14th (DNF) So much for good luck! Rain right before the hotlaps had the cars out packing the
track hoping they could race. The track was slick and wet during the heats but better for the feature. Brian didn't get much of
a chance to check out the conditions as he was making a pass on the outside when a car broke something and turned up into
him. The 92B scraped the outside retaining wall and came to a rest on top if it! Lots of damage. Just changed the rearend
housing because we discovered it was bent only to bend it again! Ugh.
May 27th- Started 3rd, Finished 1st!! Finally able to shake the bad luck bug and bag a win! Brian had the car hooked up,
coming from 8th to first in his heat. Drew the number 3 chip and was set for the feature. Went backwards at first but was able
to slowly make his way forward taking over the top spot and holding on for the double checkers! Whooo hooooo!
May 20th-Started 6th, Finished 2nd. Another second place finish. Cars racing in front of the 92B hampered any progress to
the front for most the race. Laps winding down he did make his way up to 2nd before the checkers flew.
May 13th - Started 9th, DNF. Not lucky 13 for the 92B as Brian suffered some bad luck in the night's feature event. Moving to
the front, up to about 4th or 5th, he was looking high, then low, then high, then low trying to figure out a way to get around the
cars racing two wide in front of him. Laps winding down he thought he'd try the middle, only to discover a big hole! Rolled the
tire and broke the weight jack bolt ending his night. Bummer.
May 6th- Cancelled due to rain.
April 29th- Started 5th, Finished 2nd. Hot and windy finally able to get the races in. The track suffered some from recent rains
resulting in some rough conditions in the corners. Brian was able to navigate the bumps by sticking to the bottom. A late race
yellow bunched the cars up, with the 92B sitting in the second spot. The leader got a good jump and Brian wasn't able to make
any serious challenges. A nice solid finish to start off the season at Stuart.
April 22nd- Cancelled due to rain.
April 15th- Cancelled. Having a practice instead.
Shelby County Speedway, Harlan, IA
Season Opener May 5th
August 25th-Started 9th, Finished 1st! The middle was where it was at for the 92B, as he drove right down the center of the
track to work his way to the front. With cars running high and low, he made it three wide, pulling up beside the cars getting an
advantage in the corner, side by side down the straightaway he'd have the position as they rounded the next turn. He used
this strategy until he popped out in the lead. Hung on til the checkers flew. A great run! Whooo Hooo!
August 18th- Started 17th, Finished 2nd. Motor problems in the heat forced the 92B to pull in. Starting near the back of the
pack he had his work cut out for him in the night's feature. Fortunately the car was hooked up and he was able to use both the
high and low side to work his way to the front. Up to second before the checkers flew. A nice run!
August 11th- Started 11th, Finished 3rd. Track was super duper heavy in the heat race and Brian wasn't able to do any
passing so didn't make the invert in the A main. Starting 11th, he had his work cut out for him. Fortunately the car seemed to
be pretty good in the feature and he was able to keep out of trouble and slowly make his way to the front finishing a strong
August 4th- Started 7th, Finished 5th.
July 28th- Rained out during the first heat race.
July 21st-Started 9th, Finished 5th.
July 14th- Started 9th, Finished 3rd. Was lucky more than anything tonight as the car wasn't hooking up for most the race.
With neither the high or low side working for Brian he was forced to the middle and with a few laps to go he was actually able
to make some forward progress. With the white flag flying he was up to 5th, only to have the 3rd and 4th place cars tangle in
turn 4. Brian snuck by down low taking home 3rd.
July 7th- Started 9th, Finished 9th? Car wasn't too bad tonight, but Brian would never really get to put it to much of a test as
the hood pins on the driver's side didn't get secured and he spent the majority of the race hugging the tires on the inside so
he could keep his bearings!
June 30th-Started 7th, Finished 3rd. Another first lap incident only tonight Brian was able to maneuver around it. Taking the
green he lost several positions as the cars jockeyed for position. Settling in he tried both the high and low side, finally finding
a good groove he made his way towards the front. Managed to pull off a steady third place finish.
June 23rd-Started 8th, Finished ??. Some nights you just wish you would have stayed home and tonight was one of those
nights! After a strong run in the heat the crew was cautiously optimistic about the night's feature event. Unfortunately, any
hope of a good run ended on the first full lap of the race. Having taken the green, there were cars everywhere, 3 and 4 wide
as they went down the back stretch, still bunched up, Brian was shuffled back to the tail of the field. Coming off four Brian was
in a clump of cars when disaster struck. Car in front of him got bumped and turned directly in front of Brian, he t boned the
car coming to a complete and abrupt stop in front of the flag stand. Pulling into pit road the crew went to work on the left front
tire, but there was more than that wrong with the car. The front bumper and bars were shoved back into the radiator and the
shroud wasn't allowing the fan to move. Tin snips, hammers, and finally a big stick got the job done and miraculously Brian
was out on the track when the green flew once again. Green flag flying coming off turn two a car in front of him spun and
despite standing on the brakes Brian made contact. Back to pit road, changing the tire that was just put on! Brian joined the
race as they were flying down the front chute, never did get time to catch up and the car's handling was way off after the last
wreck. Thanks to everyone that helped out on pit road. Very much appreciated!
June 16th- Started 8th, Finished 4th (scored 3rd). Crossed the finish line in 4th but was scored 3rd as the 2nd place car
jumped on the restart. Details to follow.
June 9th-Started 7th, Finished 1st! Dust was flying in hot laps but tonight the 92B team's set up was right on! Brian had the car
hooked up on the bottom which is where he needed to be to work his way to the front. Patiently moving through traffic, he
took over the top spot with 10 laps to go. Stretching out his lead while the other cars battled it out behind him the yellow was
thrown with only 4 laps to go. Cars on his bumper the race went green again. The pack was on him as he wheeled the 92B
through the turns and with 3 to go he lost the lead as he drifted up coming off four, but the car stuck in the middle and he
zipped back to the point before entering turn one and never looked back. A great run!! As Dave would have said, Whooo
June 2, Rained out after running a couple heat races. Try again next week.
May26- Canceled due to wet conditions.
May 19th-Started 11th, Finished 8th. Marathon night for the 92B crew. The mood was set in hot laps when Brian lost control in
the mud on the front straight and careened into the guardrail in 3 and 4. Totally wiped out the suspension on the right front.
Heat races underway the 92B crew went to work replacing the upper and lower a frames, ball joints, right front and rear tires,
brake line (Frame was tweaked too but couldn't fix that.) Miraculously with seconds to spare he was lined up when his heat
hit the track. The car was anything but perfect unfortunately. Back to work after the heat the crew scrambled to get the car
ready for the A main. Unfortunately it was obvious right away that we'd missed the mark as Brian went from 11th to dead last at
the drop of the green. To make matters worse a couple laps later he had to come to almost a complete stop on the front
straight to miss getting tangled up with some other cars. Spent about half the race running alone trying to catch the main
pack. Finally a yellow, sitting in 9th, he was able to improve by one before the checkers flew. Back to the home shop for a
thorough check up. (Post race inspection showed the rear end was bent...hopefully that was part of our handling woes!)
May 12th - Started 4th, Finished 3rd. Beautiful evening for the first race of the year at SCS. The track was hard, smooth and
slick giving Brian a chance to try out some new set ups. Changes before hot laps, the heat and the feature seemed to all pay
off as the car was pretty good by the night's A event. The place to be was on the bottom and with the 92B starting on the
outside he went backwards initially battling until he could settle in down low. Took several laps but he was able to hold off
some charges and break free from the pack setting his sights on the 2nd place car. Once caught up he had to figure out a way
around, but in the meantime a couple other challengers caught up to them. Brian was looking low when the 4th place car saw
his chance and passed on the outside, Brian got in line and went around as well. With 2 laps left he wasn't able to pick up
anymore spots. Finished a solid 3rd.
May 5, Cancelled due to rain.
Hancock County Speedway, Britt, IA
Season Opener April 6th
August 24th- Season Championship Night. Started 3rd Finished 1st!!!! Oh what a night! Brian came into the night sitting third
in the overall track points, one point behind the second place car and 5 out of the lead. With the cars starting according to
their point standings, we knew there was little if any chance of taking home the track championship, but Brian set out to do the
best he could in the night's race. Even changing the stagger on the car while we were sitting in staging! At the drop of the
green he was on the bumper of the pole sitter, diving low in one and two and squirting into second. Going down the back
stretch he got on the inside of the leader and they drove through three and four side by side. Racing down the front stretch
Brian had a slight advantage entering turn 3 and exiting four he was in the lead. With no yellows Brian just had to concentrate
on making it through each corner as smoothly as possible. No simple task with the track's dry slick conditions. Lap after lap
wound down until finally the double checkers flew! Doing the math, unbelievably the top three in points had managed to end
the night in a TIE! Unfortunately only one person can take home the title and they determine this by number of wins. Brian and
one other racer had 2 wins while the other had 6 so he was crowned the Champion. Would have never imagined such a
thing!! A great way to end the season at Britt.
August 17th- Started 5, Finished 1st!!!!! FINALLY! With only two races left in the regular season at HCS Brian finally got it all
together and pulled off a win! Car looked good in the heat so kept things where they were at. Feature time, weren't sure what
we'd have for a track as there had been some light rain showers during the hobby race. Lightening off in the distance, Brian
got to the high side as quickly as he could, passing cars as they battled for position. Only a few laps in and he was up to
second. Reeling in the leader and finally catching him, the two had a heckuva battle going for the top spot. Brian was looking
low, but just didn't have enough room or umph to make it work. Lap after lap, the other cars starting to close in, didn't look
like he was going to get it done, but finally he was able to get a good run on the outside and make the pass for the lead! A few
laps left, he hung on to take the win! Whooo Hooooo!!! Season Championships next week.
August 10th- Started 7th, Finished 2nd. Dust was flying in hot laps tonight and the racers were treated to a hard dry racing
surface. Brian dropped a cylinder in the heat race but was able to correct the problem before the feature. Starting on the
inside he actually used the outside groove to make his way to the front. The preferred line was the bottom and after the first
caution he settled in behind the 3rd place car. Patience paid off as he was able to finally make the pass on the inside. First
place had checked out but the 92B made up 1/2 the distance before the final yellow the night came out. In second he debated
whether to go high or stick to the low side. With 3rd place threatening and only a couple laps left he stuck to the bottom.
Wasn't able to put up a serious challenge for the top spot.
August 3rd-Started 13th, Finished 5th.
July 27th- Started 8th, Finished 6th. Once again the results don't tell the story. With the groove on the inside Brian got
shuffled back early on and also lost a lot of positions when a car a few rows ahead of him got out of shape. Finally able to find
some racing room, Brian slowly worked his way back forward. A couple untimely cautions negated some hard fought passes.
With everyone hugging the bottom Brian just couldn't find an opening. Finished 6th.
July 20th- Started 8th, Finished 5th. After picking up the win in his heat, it was hurry and wait as the all the racers waited for
through time trials and qualifying for the visiting Sprint cars. Finally hitting the track, the fans were treated to some tight
racing tonight, Brian worked his way up to 4th but was shuffled back on the last lap to finish 5th.
July 13th-Started 9th, Finished 2nd. Starting on the inside worked well tonight as Brian was able to use to low side to slowly
make his way to the front. With some cars tangling about mid way through the race he was in 3rd on the restart. Taking
advantage he used the high side to take over the second place car. Setting his sights on the leader, Brian was all over his
rear bumper waiting for a bobble but the leader ran a smart race and Brian settled for a strong second.
July 6th-Started 8th, Finished 8th. Just couldn't get the car dialed in. Was a little better in the feature but not good enough.
After a great start, the 92B saw any forward progress he made disappear as he fell victim to 2 and even 3 wide racing. Rather
safe than sorry he fell back, but despite all his efforts he wasn't able to regain the positions he lost. Groove was on the low
side and he just couldn't quite get the car to stick. Would pass a car only to see them pass him back in the next corner.
Another frustrating night.
June 29th-Started 8th, Finished 2nd. All in all not a bad night. Trying out another set up, Brian found out early that he couldn't
run the high side. Finding an opening low, he stuck to the bottom and rode out the race. Didn't do a whole lot of passing but
was in the right place at the right time when other drivers had problems. At the half way mark he was in second, but didn't
have enough to give the leader a serious challenge. A nice solid finish.
June 22nd- Canceled due to Rain.
June 15th-Started 8th, Finished 3rd. Things looked a little better as Brian was able to make some changes to the set up that
vastly improved the car. Avoided some disasters and took home a solid 3rd place finish.
June 8th, Started 8th, Finished 8th. Another set up to put into the 'doesn't work' file. The 92B just didn't have anything
coming off the corners. Looked good going in where he'd gain but then lose any advantage coming off. A frustrating night
out on the track.
June 1-Canceled due to Rain.
May 25th-Started 8th, Finished 7th. Another night of working his way to the front only to have disaster strike. One groove in
the middle Brian got in line. Patiently working forward he was up to third when the car behind hit him in the left rear wheel as
he was entering turns one and two. The 92B became airborne spinning through the air and off the track. Brian didn't know if
he was right side up or upside down when he landed. The right front wheel was packed with mud and he could barely drive
the car to the pits, but the crew was able to get the wheel cleaned out and the 92B back on the track for the last few laps.
May 18th-Started 8th, Finished 8th. Beautiful night for racing. Brian had his hands full in the heat, but a few minor changes
and things looked better for the feature. Patiently working his way to the front, he was in 3rd with about 1/2 the laps in. The
groove was on the bottom and Brian kept looking for an opening down low, but the 2nd place car kept slamming the door
shut. Finally a bobble and Brian was charging down the back straight on the inside, but his luck turned as the two cars made
contact and his right front tire was cut down. Barely managing to hang onto it in the corner he managed to safely maneuver to
the high side as the cars whizzed past. Flat tire changed, there were only 2 laps left. Managed to pick up a couple spots
before the checkered flag flew.
May 11th-Started 8th, Finished 5th. Track was super heavy in the heat but surprisingly much drier for the feature. Passing
was very tough, with the high side being the place to be. Brian hadn't made much forward progress when the car in front of
him braked suddenly to avoid getting into some other cars, Brian didn't even have time to hit the brakes and unfortunately ran
right into the back end of the car in front of him. The car spun. Brian was put to the tail. Back to it the cars were bumper to
bumper again, when disaster struck for the car in front of Brian. Hooking a rut apparently the rear trailing arm broke free
sending the car tumbling. Brian miraculously missed the melee and was able to continue on. Finished out the race in 5th.
May 4th-Started 7th, Finished 2nd. Lots of changes to the car before the feature had Brian and crew scrambling. Out on the
track patience was key as passing was very difficult. Looking low Brian found out quickly that this wasn't going to result in any
passes. Back in line on the high side it took a couple cautions and good restarts for Brian to pick up some positions. Up to
third, a scary situation when the lead and second place cars tangled. With nowhere to go Brian piled in, but again was lucky as
he only suffered sheet metal damage (the passenger side door and door bars were smashed in!). Continuing on he picked up
the second place spot, but despite a few looks on the inside he wasn't able to take over the top spot. A good run on a tricky
April 27th- Started 7th, Finished 5th. Interesting night. The track took a beating from recent heavy rains, with ruts and holes
developing in the corners and dry straight aways. Brian had a great start in the A feature, using the bottom to make his way up
